My new dog just had a puppy, we did not even know she was pregnant..... now what??

The lady we got her from said she was 6 months old. We have only had her a few weeks and bingo she has a pup. I have tried to contact the lady we adopted her from to see who the dad might be. No answer. We plan to keep them both but have NO experience with a puppy. Thanks!!
