Where to meet friends on campus?

I almost finished my freshman year at college, but I don't really have a very close friend that I can always hang out with. I joined a fraternity, and talk to people in cl. however, people I want to hang out with are not in the same social circle with me. for example, if i meet a guy on my cl, but I cannot hang out with him or her outside of the cl, because I don't know any of his or her friends. most students are in-state, but I'm an international student, pretty much they already know a few people from the same high school. people I can hang out with are nerdy. i don't know how i can find the cool friends that I can always hang out with, or even become the bff of mine. please help me. thanks
